Press-fit Jewerly

Press-fit jewelry, a “snap together” threadless system, is a popular alternative to threaded jewelry and traditional earrings. This style of jewelry can be comfortably worn through numerous piercings (earlobes, ear cartilage, nostril, lip) and is comprised of two separate pieces. Inserted “backwards” from a traditional style earring, the post (backing) is inserted from the back to the front. The removable end is the gem. The benefit is, the post is made out of implant grade titanium, is safe for long term wear, the backing won’t poke you in the head while you sleep, the length of the post is customisable to perfectly fit your piercing and you can change the gem without removing your jewelry. Awesome for someone who wants a new look but their piercing isn’t healed yet!

A complete piece of press-fit jewelry is made of two individual pieces that fit together: a post and a removable end. Each press-fit post sold at Pierced Hearts is precision machined in the USA from solid implant-grade titanium bars (ASTM F136 6AI-4V ELI), and features an attached ball or disk on one end. The removable decorative ends are available in titanium or 14k and 18k gold, both excellent options for those sensitive to other materials. Originally patented by NeoMetal, press-fit posts and ends are now also manufactured by a wide variety of reputable companies including Cascade Body Jewelry, Anatometal, BVLA, Industrial Strength and more.

All of the stones in our press-fit ends are set - not glued. This means the stones will not fall out as they will with cheaper pieces of jewelry. If you do lose a stone, we’ll fit it or replace it for you. We sell only the finest quality jewelry and will stand by what we sell.

When buying press-fit jewelry from Pierced Hearts each part is sold individually. If you need a complete piece of jewelry, you will need to purchase both a post and an end. This also means that you can purchase additional ends without being forced to purchase additional posts every time.

Press-fit ends have a small “pin” that sticks out of the decorative end and fits inside the shaft of the hollow titanium post. The two pieces stay together by tension. A slight bend is made to the pin which allows it to stay securely in place inside the hollow post.

We sell all press-fit ends pre-bent so that they are ready to wear and will fit securely into your post when they arrive to you. The tightness is adjustable by how much of a bend is made to the pin so if you think your end looks a little tweaked, that was done intentionally.
